Be Disaster Ready with CERT - Fall Classes Enrolling Now

We need citizen first responders! The next series of Basic CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) weekly classes will start on Sept. 12 and end Oct. 17 at the Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center, in Conference Room B. Classes will be 8 a.m. to noon each Friday. There is no charge for completing the course. Registration is needed to have necessary books, supplies and materials available. Dress is casual and no open toe shoes, please.

Disaster Preparedness at home, work, and in the community

Fire extinguisher training

Disaster Medical Operations

Light Search and Rescue

Disaster Psychology

CERT organization

Terrorism
The last class will be an exercise using the skills presented in the previous weeks.
CERT is recommended for those eighteen years and older. Casual clothes and no open toe shoes.
