Storm Damage Assistance from March 30 - April 8

If your home or personal property sustained damage in the March 30–April 8 storms, you can apply for FEMA assistance. Designated counties include Cape Girardeau, and Bollinger, Butler, Carter, Cooper, Dunklin, Howell, Iron, Mississippi, New Madrid, Oregon, Ozark, Reynolds, Ripley, Scott, Shannon, Stoddard, Vernon, Washington and Wayne.

For losses not covered by insurance, FEMA may be able to provide money to help you pay for home repairs, a temporary place to live, essential personal property that was destroyed and other needs. FEMA assistance money does not have to be repaid.

The fastest way to apply is at DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling 800-621-3362. You can also download and use the FEMA app. The deadline to apply is December 22, 2025.

Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) are open as follows. FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration will help impacted residents with their disaster assistance applications, answer questions, and upload required documents.

What You Can Do at a Disaster Recovery Center

  • Apply for assistance.
  • Learn the status of your FEMA application.
  • Understand any letters you get from FEMA.
  • Ask for home repair money and rental assistance.
  • Get answers to questions or resolve problems.
  • Get referrals to agencies that may offer other assistance.
  • Learn about Small Business Administration (SBA) loan programs.

What to Bring to a Disaster Recovery Center

  • If insured, the policy number or the agent and/or the company name.
  • A current phone number and email address.
  • Your address at the time of the disaster and the address where you are now staying.
  • Your Social Security number.
  • A general list of damage and losses.
  • Banking information for direct deposit, if available.
  • Receipts for disaster related items purchased (items to make repairs to home, hotel receipts, etc.)
