Attention all home schooling families! The Cape Girardeau Parks & Recreation Department will be conducting a Physical Education class for all students who would like to attend. Pee-Wee Sports (Ages 3-5)
Kick off your child’s exposure to the sports world! Pee-Wee Sports athletes will learn about t-ball, soccer and basketball. Intermediate Tennis (Ages 8-12)
This is a great class to improve your tennis skills! The instructor will provide a balance of instruction and practice. Emphasis will be on proper grip, stance, swing, serve, and ball placement as well as hitting with control for depth and power. Please bring your own racket, water, and appropriate footwear. Start Smart Tennis prepares children and their parents for organized tennis without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. Junior Golf Program (Ages 6-14)
The Junior Golf Program provides instruction that will cover how to hold a golf club, what each club is intended for, how to swing a golf club and golf course etiquette. The program consists of six lessons held on Wednesday evenings. Pick a 5:30 p.m. OR a 6:30 p.m. time slot. The first four weeks will be at the Jaycee Municipal Golf Course, the fifth week will be at the TeeHouse Complex and the sixth week will be used for makeup days at the Jaycee Municipal Golf Course. Pre-Hapkido & Hapkido Core by Lee H. Park Hapkido (Ages 5-15)
Skills classes are a basic introduction to martial arts, and work on improving balance, mobility and respect. Other key areas of focus include kicking, punching, and bully-proofing your child. All classes are taught at Lee H. Park Hapkido (1131 N. Kingshighway Suite 2K). Max enrollment of 15 per age group.
