Our Citizens Academy connects you with city officials, services, and ways to get more involved in the community. Participants tour facilities, learn about our departments, and get a chance to ask questions and meet new neighbors. Applications are open now at
cityofcape.org/academy. Classes are two hours on Wednesday evenings in April and May.

Citizens Police Academy
Have you ever been interested in learning about your local police department? Our FREE class offers a personal insight into each division and lots of hands on experiences! In addition to the scheduled classes, a “ride-along” with our patrol officers will be made available to those wishing to do so.
Our Spring CPA Session will start April 6, 2023 and will run through June 1, 2023. The classes take place once
a week, (typically) Thursday nights from 6:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the Cape Girardeau Police Department.
Requirements: Must be 18 years of age or older and complete an application process along with a background check. Attendees must be working or reside in Cape Girardeau.
Class sizes are limited so please get the applications in quickly. Applications can be obtained from the front desk at the Cape Girardeau Police Department, 2530 Maria Louise Lane.
