The City of Cape Girardeau is encouraging their water, sewer and trash customers to register for free paperless e-billing to avoid potential postal delays and ensure they receive their bills well before the due date. The City has recently received complaints from customers who have received their bills on or after the bill due date, but are still responsible for late fees. Check payments sent by mail can also be delayed.
Customers waiting to receive a printed bill for weeks, may be assessed late fees before the bill arrives. Like many service providers, the City offers free, reliable paperless billing and online account access. Customers who enroll in e-billing receive their bills approximately 20 days before the final amount is due, giving them additional time to review and pay their bill.
Customers can choose from several convenient payment and billing options including the following. More options listed at www.cityofcape.org/utilitybilling.
- Fast, Free E-Bill – sign up online, in person, or by phone
- Free AutoPay – sign up online or in person (requires voided check)
- Online Bill Pay by Credit/Debit/E-Check (fee applies)
