Public Works is all about providing service to the customer – which is you if you live, work, or travel through Cape Girardeau. Some of our responsibilities are noticeable, like snow removal or street repairs, but many are activities that happen day in and day out without being noted unless something goes wrong.
We are responsible for maintenance of Cape’s water, storm, sewer/wastewater, and street infrastructures. We also provide solid waste and recycling services to the citizens of Cape Girardeau, operate the Transfer Station and maintain the City’s equipment in the Fleet Division.
