Parks & Recreation COVID-19 Updates

Masks in City Facilities Continues (Updated March 9, 2021)

The Cape Girardeau County Health Department still supports and highly recommends businesses and schools continue to require masks despite rescinding their Face Covering Order. Please respect policies in place at any public agency or private business. Masking, distancing, hygiene, and the vaccinations have all worked together to reduce the spread of COVID-19. We appreciate everyone for continuing to help keep our facilities, schools, and businesses open by continuing these practices. The City and its departments will continue to evaluate community conditions and post signage at its public facilities.

For Parks & Recreation facilities: Spectators, renters, & customers ages 9+ doing business at administrative offices and concession windows will be required to wear masks at all indoor facilities: A. C. Brase Arena, 4-H Exhibit Hall, Central Municipal Pool (except while in the water), Jaycee Golf Course Pro Shop, Osage Centre, Shawnee Park Center & SportsPlex. Masks will not be required at outdoor facilities, nor required for customers engaged in physical activity at any facility. We ask that all visitors be kind to customer service staff who are working to make our facilities a safer environment.

For more information on these protocols, please contact our Parks & Recreation Main Office at 573.339.6340.
