About Cape Rock Park

Located in the northeast part of the City on North Cape Rock Drive, the park contains 21.3 acres and offers a breathtaking view of the Mississippi River. This park was the original trading post established by Ensign Girardot, for whom the City is named. The park is mainly undeveloped in an effort to promote the natural area located on the west side of the property.

A scenic river overlook at Cape Rock Park, featuring a large stone monument with a plaque centered on a small gravel pad. To the right, several flags—including the U.S. flag—fly on poles overlooking the Mississippi River. Benches and an informational sign sit nearby, with trees framing the viewpoint and the river stretching across the background under a partly cloudy sky.
