We want you on our Aquatics Team!
There are many options for summer jobs, but none are as rewarding as being a lifeguard at Cape Splash! We offer training to certify you as a lifeguard, as well as a Water Park Certification. If you are already certified, we are always looking for quality, experienced staff like yourself to be a part of our team!
Lifeguard Training Courses
To qualify for the Lifeguard Course, you must complete the required prerequisites listed below. Upon completion of the prerequisites, access will be granted to the online training course. The online portion of the class is required to be completed before the in-person portion of the course. The in-person portion of the class will be composed of practical skills testing and written exams. The three days of hands-on training include CPR/AED, First Aid, and lifeguarding modules. The Lifeguard Class dates are listed below with their corresponding prerequisite dates.

Lifeguard Prerequisites:
Prerequisite 1
Jump in, submerge, resurface, and swim 150 yards continuously, tread water for 2 minutes, and then swim 50 more yards. While swimming, you must keep your face in the water and demonstrate good breath control. You may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both. Swimming on the back or side is not permitted. Swim goggles are allowed. When treading, you must use only your legs.
Prerequisite 2
Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds. Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. Your face may be in or out of the water. Swim goggles are not allowed. Surface dive (head-first or feet-first) to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object. Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on your back to return to the starting point, holding the object at the surface with both hands and keeping your face at or near the surface. Swimming the distance underwater is not permitted. Exit the water without using a ladder or the steps.
Become a Slide Attendant
If you are not sure you want to be a lifeguard but you are interested in working the summer at Cape Splash, we have other opportunities available just for YOU! We offer Slide Attendant positions to anyone aged 14 and over. Slide Attendants monitor the top of our water slides and verify height and safety requirements.
Become a Swim Lesson Instructor
Would you like to be a Swim Lesson Instructor? If you’re reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently, have a dependable vehicle, have a knowledge of swimming techniques, and love kids, that’s a great start! Now you need to fill out the application, and you could be part of the Learn to Swim team! We are currently seeking Swim Instructors. Apply Today!
