Our site is not only designed to offer you interesting and educational information but also to reflect the tremendous pride and spirit within our department. We maintain a great respect for our historic past, a strong sense of duty towards excellent performance in the present, and a real enthusiasm for meeting the challenges of the future. The purpose of the Cape Girardeau Fire Department is to protect the quality of life in our community by delivering the highest quality services in the most effective, efficient, safest, and professional manner possible with the resources available to us.

Our greatest resources, by far, are the 66 dedicated people that currently make up this department. They are committed to fulfilling our noble purpose, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The department delivers fire, rescue, emergency medical, and emergency management services from four fire stations strategically located throughout the city.

Our services focus on protecting life and property through a variety of prevention, education, preparation, response, and evaluation activities.
