The Community Development Department issues Cape Girardeau City Business Licenses. Applications and other documents can be found below or by visiting City Hall. Completed documents must be submitted to the Community Development at City Hall for processing.

A new business license is valid from the start of the business to the end of the calendar year, and the license fee is prorated. Business license renewals are valid for one calendar year, January to December, with a grace period until January 31 for renewals. Renewal forms are mailed to active licenses in December of each year. 

A Missouri "No Sales Tax Due" letter must be submitted with all new business licenses applications for selling goods at retail. For more information about the No Sales Tax Due letter, please use the link provided or contact:
