Keep Cape Beautiful is a volunteer board led by the City's Park and Recreation Department whose aim is to beautify Cape Girardeau by controlling litter and graffiti, promoting recycling, encouraging community involvement, and caring for trees and other plants in the community. The Committee's main goal is to enhance physical attractiveness of the City of Cape Girardeau by keeping litter and graffiti to a minimum and adding aesthetic quality to parks and streets by planting and caring for flowers, trees and other greenery.

Keep Cape Beautiful is continually seeking citizens to volunteer. To become a member of the Keep Cape Beautiful Beautification Committee, one must become a certified chapter affiliate with
Keep America Beautiful. Keep Cape Beautiful meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 12:00 p.m. at the Osage Centre.
