Trails

The Cape LaCroix Recreation Trail is a project that will improve recreaional opportunities for the citzens of Cape Girardeau.  Citizens may benefit by using the trail for walking, running, cycling, roller blading, skating, or skate boarding.  The trail provides a travel corridor from Shawnee Park through the City of Cape Girardeau to Osage Park.  This project was made possible through funding from the City of Cape Girardeau and the State of Missouri.  Construction of the trail commenced in 1993 and the final segment of the original planned trail completed in 2000.

The Parks and Recreation Department asks for your support in making everyone’s visit to the Recreation Trail enjoyable.  The City of Cape Girardeau is very fortunate to have a trail system such as this, and we would encourage the people to use it or any of our other recreation facilities.
