Park Shelter Reservations: Anyone interested in reserving a shelter in one of our beautiful parks may do so by stopping by our Parks & Recreation Office in the A.C. Brase Arena during normal office hours. The shelter reservation fee is $10.00 payable at the time the reservation is made. Reservations are not required but are a convenience offered by our department. For larger events, a Park Area Permit will be required. The Park Area Permit fee is $25.00 payable at the time the reservation is made. These fees are non refundable.
Adopt-a-Park Program: There is more to beautifying a park than just keeping the grass mowed. If your group or organization is looking for a way to improve the quality of our parks and enhance the community as well as teach responsibility, this program is for you. The Parks & Recreation Department welcomes your assistance in helping us improve the quality of living in our community. For more information on participating in this program, contact us at (573) 335-5421.
Commemorative Tree Program: Here is an opportunity to commemorate a special person or occasion while helping to beautify the community at the same time. A commemorative tree can be given in memory or in honor of special people, groups, or occasions. Gifts of $150 or more will be used to purchase and plant a specified tree with an appropriately inscribed memorial stone, which will be placed in the ground at the foot of the commemorative trees. Each stone will list the person, groups, or occasion that is being honored and the tree’s common name. Contact us at (573) 335-5421 for more details.
The City of Cape Girardeau maintains 23 parks, totaling 662.5 acres. To the left is a list of City parks and the features and recreational opportunities available at each park. Simply click on the specific park for more information.
