Vision 2020
Vision 2020 is the continuation of the
Vision 2000 Strategic Plan , including vision statements, goals, objectives, and strategies. The final version of the plan was approved by the City Council on August 7, 2000. We also have an online sign-up form for you to get involved in implementation activities.

Transportation Trust Fund In 1995, the citizens of Cape Girardeau approved a 1/2-cent sales tax for street improvements. The TransportationTrust Fund was created to pay for the projects. A status report on the Trust Fund projects are posted here monthly.

On Aug. 8, 2000, voters approved a 5-year extension to the 1/2-cent Transportation Sales Tax , including a new list of priority street projects.

Grants are available to qualified applicants in Cape Girardeau .
