City Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Regulation Update

The City is undertaking a major evaluation and revision of its zoning ordinance and subdivision regulations.

The Recently adopted Comprehensive Plan (City of Cape Girardeau Comprehensive Plan) provides guidance on what the City should be addressing as it updates these ordinances, along with public comments and additional issues and concerns that have come up as suggestions for revision.

The City of Cape Girardeau Planning and Zoning Commission is responsible for guiding the update process.  The Planning and Zoning Commission set up a subcommittee to meet and work through the first drafts of these ordinances to forward to the Planning and Zoning Commission.  City Staff involved in this update are Planner, Martha Brown and Community Planner, Sarah Wallace (swallace@cityofcapegirardeau.org). They can be reached at (573) 339-6326.

As the drafts are developed and forwarded to the Planning and Zoning Commission for public comment and discussion, those items for discussion will be posted on this site.
