Murtaugh Park is a small green space (0.2 acres) located on a median across from the old St. Vincent’s Cathedral and the Red House Interpretive Center in historic downtown Cape Girardeau. There is a memorial plaque at the park in front of the Cape Girardeau Missouri River Wall.
Murtaugh Park is now also the home of the Melvin Gateley Vision 2000 Garden. Commemorative bricks are still available for purchase through Cape Girardeau Parks & Recreation.
