The Cape LaCroix Recreation Trail is a project that will improve recreational opportunities for the citizens of Cape Girardeau. Citizens may benefit by using the trail for walking, running, cycling, rollerblading, skating or skate boarding. The trail provides a travel corridor from Shawnee Park through the City of Cape Girardeau to Osage Park. This project was made possible through funding from the City of Cape Girardeau and the State of Missouri. Construction of the trail commenced in 1993 and the final segment of the original planned trail completed in 2000.
The Parks & Recreation Department asks for your support in making everyone's visit to the Cape LaCroix Recreation Trail enjoyable. The City of Cape Girardeau is very fortunate to have a trail system such as this and we would encourage the people to use it or any of our other recreation facilities. |
