Utility Information

Requirements

In order to start new service or transfer utility service, a person has to come into the office with the following:

  • Driver's license
  • Pay a deposit: $75.00 for a house or $51.00 for an apartment with 4 or more apartments *You may bring in a letter of credit from another utility provider showing you've had good pay history with them.
  • Pay any prior outstanding bills
  • May need a lease from landlord to verify various information

In order to turn off service, someone may either come into the office or make this request over the phone (573-339-6322)

***Please be advised that if you wish to transfer service, you will need to pay any amount in arrears before the transfer of service will be allowed.

Services Provided

We bill for water, trash & sewer on a monthly basis. A bill will be mailed to you according to your billing cycle. The bills are always mailed out on a Wednesday and are due two weeks later. They are delinquent after the third week, with a 10% penalty being added to the amount due.

Fees

Water      $7.68 meter charge + water usage (based on a 5/8" meter)
Sewer      $13.19 + $3.00 per hundred cubic feet of water
Trash       $17.50 (Fuel surcharge added; will vary monthly)

Disconnect Policy

You will receive a disconnect notice when your account is two (2) months in arrears and your third bill is getting ready to be mailed. Once you receive a disconnect notice, you may either pay this amount in full or sign a pay agreement to postpone the date of payment. The pay agreement date is established by us according to when your current bill is due. In order to sign a pay agreement, you will need to bring in a driver's license and do so prior to the actual disconnect date. You may not sign a pay agreement until you actually have a disconnect notice. If services are disconnected, a fee and a deposit (if there is no deposit on the account), along with the past due charges will need to be paid before services are reconnected.

Making a Payment

These are the ways to pay your monthly utility bill:

  • In our office during normal business hours. We accept cash, checks, money orders, or credit/debit cards (VISA, Mastercard, or Discover)
  • Pay online **Please note that there is a $3.50 convenience fee charged for each online transaction ($400.00 maximum payment allowed); Completed payments will be recorded against the utility account within 1-2 business days.
  • We have a drop box located on the south side of the building under the porch awning
  • Pay your current bill at Schnucks *they may charge a fee for this
  • Sign up for Autopay - this allows your current bill to be deducted from a designated checking/saving account at no additional charge
