Getting Involved with Cape Girardeau City Goverment CITY COUNCIL, ADVISORY BOARDS & COMMISSIONS Council, board and commission meetings are always open to the public. Anyone may speak at public meetings or simply observe. The advisory council page has the schedules, agendas and descriptions of all city boards. VOTING The Cape Girardeau County Clerk's Office manages voter registration and voting locations. Cape Girardeau residents vote for their mayor, council representative and on intiatives. COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERING Residents can still make a positive difference by volunteering with one of Cape Girardeau's many community organizations. Cape Girardeau is served by RSVP-VIC among other organizations that refer people to organizations in need.
