Advisory Boards and Commissions
Volunteers are needed for the City’s 14 Citizen Advisory Boards and Commissions. Applicants are appointed by the City Council and must be Cape Girardeau residents unless otherwise noted.
Citizens who wish to participate can print out an application [PDF format] to mail in. Applications are kept on file for one year from the date they are submitted. When a vacancy arises, the applications on file for that board are submitted to the City Council to make the appointment. All applicants are subject to the City's Code of Ordinances relating to Advisory Boards and Commissions.
Advisory board applications must be submitted to the City Manager’s Office at City Hall, 401 Independence. Call 573-339-6320 for more information or e-mail cityclerk@cityofcapegirardeau.org. Advisory board meetings are open to the public.
